If there is improvement on some pockets but there are some non-responding (usually deeper ones) wouldn’t you re-treat them before referring?
What are some important things an aspiring dentist can take from this webinar? Thank you.
Do you recommend RSD with hand instruments (if so any preferred instruments) and/or ultrasonics
Can you please explain exactly what a residual periodontal pocket is?
would you reinstrument or repeat rsd after 3 months if pockets still present or would u wait a bit longer and reinforce oh as healing takes place even longer than 3 months.
Would you do RSD on a patient if they continually have poor bleeding/plaque scores?
How long do implants last, maximum 10 years?
For how many rounds is SPT provided ? and when do we refer the patient to a specialist ?
when you advised a pocket chart at the beginning of treatment, would you allow the patients to improve the OH and call back after a period of time? or carry it out at the exam appointment, when perio disease is first diagnosed?
Thank you
at the 3 month review if there is no improvement what would the next step be?
hospital referral?
do you notice any difference between the treated half of the mouth compared to the untreated half on the next appt
How much is down to the improved OHI or intervention/RSD ?
How do you explain to patients they need RSD after they’ve had cleaning 3 months before so they clearly understand the difference?
if a patient has recently quit smoking during your first round of RSD treatment would you still get good results? if residual pockets still present would you attempt a 2nd round of Rsd ?
I noticed that you showed the placement of implants in patients who have severe perio. disease. Can you say how your success or indeed, failure rate, compares to placement in a healthy environment.
